About
This project aims to explore the immunological mechanisms linking Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) with an increased risk of Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease (ASCVD). Leveraging the UK Biobank's genetic, clinical, and lifestyle data, we will identify genetic variants and clinical factors that contribute to this risk. We will also use a cohort of nearly 1,000 SLE patients with ASCVD to validate findings. Supported by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China and approved by the Peking Union Medical College Hospital Ethics Committee, this research aims to improve risk assessment and personalized treatment for SLE patients at risk of ASCVD.
