About
Aims: Our research project aims to understand celiac disease better. We're looking at how the immune system, lifestyle choices like diet, and medical history affect this condition. By doing this, we hope to find new ways to diagnose, treat, and prevent celiac disease. Scientific Rationale: Celiac disease is a complex condition where the body's immune system attacks itself when gluten, a protein found in wheat, barley, and rye, is consumed. We want to figure out why this happens and how other factors like our immune system, what we eat, and our medical history play a role. By studying these connections, we can find clues to help us better understand and manage celiac disease. Project Duration: Our research will take two years to complete. We'll be running experiments, and analyzing results to get a clear picture of how celiac disease interacts with different aspects of our lives. Public Health Impact: Our research has significant implications for public health. Celiac disease affects a lot of people worldwide, and its numbers are increasing. By understanding more about what causes it and how it works, we can develop better ways to diagnose and treat it.
