The degree of population aging is progressively deepening across nations, rendering population aging a global phenomenon. Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is a common ailment among elderly males. The national disease burden attributed to BPH is anticipated to continue its ascent. The UK Biobank, encompassing a vast multidimensional database housing genetic and non-genetic health information, proves exceptionally instrumental in identifying risk factors pertinent to BPH. We aim to meticulously investigate BPH associated risk factors through the utilization of the UK Biobank.
Objectives :1.Identifying potential risk factors for BPH;2.Elucidating the molecular epidemiology of BPH;3.Developing and validating risk prediction and prognosis models;4.Calculating multi-gene risk scores.
Through a comprehensive exploration of plausible risk factors, this endeavor not only advances our understanding of BPH development and prognosis but also contributes to the enhanced management of BPH.
Project Duration: This project is estimated to take approximately 36 months to complete.
